Introduction
On May 7, 2024, I was interviewed by Boris Landoni, director of the italian magazine Elettronica In, for the “2 Chiacchiere con l’Autore” format. We delved into the world of ESP32 and PlatformIO, exploring how this platform simplifies the development of embedded and IoT projects. The interview is inspired by the article published in the magazine Elettronica In (number 278), based on one of the most read tutorials on my blog: How to create a project for NodeMCU ESP8266 with PlatformIO.
An in-depth look at ESP32 and PlatformIO
The interview was an opportunity to discuss my path and the technologies I use in my projects. In particular, we talked about:
- ESP32 and its advanced capabilities for the world of IoT and embedded computing.
- PlatformIO, an integrated development environment that simplifies microcontroller programming compared to the classic Arduino IDE.
- The implementation of an environmental data acquisition system, using ESP32 in combination with the DHT22 sensor.
- The importance of a structured approach in development, to make projects reproducible and easily scalable.
This conversation was also an opportunity to reflect on how my blog TechRM has evolved, becoming a point of reference for those who want to learn electronics and embedded computing in a practical and concrete way.
